Draft charter
Good Future Community Charter.
This is a working charter for discussion at the founding forum, not a substitute for Austrian legal statutes. It is versioned and will change. Nothing here is ratified yet.
1. Build a good future, not an AI fan club
AI is a tool and a social force. Good Future exists to increase human capability, understanding, agency and useful collaboration—not to defend a technology or company.
2. Contribution before consumption
Anyone may learn from the public commons. Members should have real pathways to share, build, teach, review, organize and improve it.
3. The website is public memory
goodfuture.at is the canonical archive. Social platforms distribute and discuss; they do not own the community’s memory.
4. Human responsibility remains human
AI may draft, summarize, route and measure. A human is accountable for publication, moderation and governance decisions.
5. Reputation must be legible
If Good Future scores contribution, the formula, data sources, caps, exclusions and appeals process are public and versioned.
6. Money does not buy karma
Membership dues and donations support infrastructure. Financial support does not purchase reputation, editorial approval or governance authority.
7. Karma does not buy sovereignty
Popularity may create recognition and opportunities, but governance power requires trust, responsibility and accountable selection.
8. Attribution is infrastructure
Creators and sources must be credited. AI transformations do not erase authorship.
9. Privacy is not a tax for belonging
Public profiles, connected social accounts and public leaderboards are opt-in where practical. Collect the minimum member data needed.
10. No invisible manipulation
Community mechanics should be understandable. Do not secretly tune feeds, scores or nudges to exploit members.
11. Disagreement is not disloyalty
The community must support criticism, corrections and dissent within dignity and safety rules.
12. Open protocols beat founder dependency
Publishing, moderation and scoring processes should become documented enough that the organization can survive changes in individual founders.
13. Local roots, networked future
Vienna is the first community, not a template every future node must imitate. Shared protocols can coexist with local culture.
14. Durable value beats instant virality
The scoring system should recognize work that remains useful after a week, a month or a year.
15. The commons must get stronger
Every major decision should ask whether it leaves members more capable of creating useful work and helping one another without dependency on a central personality.
