Terms of membership

Terms of membership.

These terms (AGB) govern Good Future Founding Membership bought on goodfuture.at. They are written for consumers in the European Union and follow Austrian law.

1. Who you are contracting with

Good Future is an initiative in formation. The Austrian association has not yet been founded and no ZVR number exists. Until it does, Good Future cannot itself hold a merchant account or issue an invoice.

Membership payments are therefore collected by GoodVibes — Essen, Kleidung und niederschwellige Hilfe in Wien für Menschen in Notlagen, ZVR 1741769261, Spittelauer Lände 12/Bogen 335A, 1090 Vienna, Austria, acting as payment collector and merchant of record for the Good Future initiative. Your card statement will show GOODVIBES GOODFUTURE.

For anything about your membership, a payment, a refund or a receipt, write to t-x@goodfuture.at. That address will reach the right people.

When the Good Future association is registered, this arrangement ends: the contract passes to the association, and we will tell you in writing before that happens.

2. What Founding Membership is

Founding Membership supports the infrastructure of the initiative and gives you a place in the first cohort shaping the community. It includes an invitation to the founding forum in Vienna, participation in the charter discussion, and first access to the member contribution agent when it comes online.

What it is not. It does not buy premium AI features, karma, editorial approval, publication of your contributions, or governance authority. The blog and the public knowledge archive stay open to everyone, member or not.

3. Price

Founding Membership costs €5 per membership month. That is the final price; there are no additional fees at checkout. No VAT is stated separately, because a membership contribution to a non-profit association is not treated as a taxable supply. If that treatment ever changes, the price shown on this site changes with it and you are told before any further charge.

Card payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland. Your card details are entered on Stripe’s own payment form and never reach goodfuture.at.

4. Billing: one payment at a time

Automatic recurring billing is not active. You are charged once, for one membership month, at the moment you join. Nothing renews by itself, no card details are stored for later use, and no further amount can be taken without you starting it.

We would rather say this plainly than describe a subscription we do not yet run. When recurring billing is set up correctly under the registered association, we will ask you to opt in before anything is charged again.

5. Your right of withdrawal (14 days)

As a consumer you may withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason, under the Austrian Fern- und Auswärtsgeschäfte-Gesetz (FAGG). The period starts on the day the contract is concluded.

To withdraw, send an unambiguous statement — an email saying you withdraw is enough — to t-x@goodfuture.at. Sending it before the deadline expires is sufficient. There is no form to fill in.

We refund every payment received within 14 days of being told, using the same means of payment you used, at no cost to you.

6. Ending your membership

You can end your membership at any time by writing to us; it ends at the close of the month you have paid for. Because nothing renews automatically, simply not paying again also ends it.

Founding cohort status continues only while membership is continuously active. If you leave and come back later, you return under the membership rules in force at that time. Nobody is ever banned from rejoining Good Future for having left.

7. Community rules

Members are expected to follow the Community Charter, which is a draft for discussion at the founding forum and will change. Contributions are reviewed by a human moderator before publication; we may decline to publish without ending your membership.

We may close an account for harassment, deception or illegal content. If we do, we refund the unused part of any payment.

8. Liability

Good Future is a volunteer initiative and the website is provided as it is; we do not promise uninterrupted availability, and features described as planned are planned, not owed. We are liable for intent and gross negligence without limitation, and for personal injury under statute. Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory rights as a consumer.

9. Changes to these terms

These terms are versioned and dated. If we change them in a way that materially affects members, we announce it on this page and by email at least 30 days in advance, and you may end your membership before the change takes effect.

10. Law and disputes

Austrian law applies. If you are a consumer resident in another EU member state, the mandatory consumer protections of your own country are unaffected by this choice.

Please write to us first — we would rather fix a problem than argue about it. The European Commission also provides an online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
